Jesda Soundorom
There’s no limit to the number of lives you can live in music… Jedsa Soundorom knows this more than most…
Jedsa's high energy is as contagious as his grooves are infectious. Developing an obsession for music at a very young age highly influenced by hip hop, Caribbean music and electronic beats, he discovered House music in the mid 1990s in London and he never looked back. From his early love affair with hip hop to his wild ride through the 90s house scene, the Paris-based DJ and producer has sampled more sides of the music game than most.
Jedsa started to define and polish his style, his eclectic taste started to emerge through his music and he enjoyed experimenting with new sounds. In 2002, curious and adventurous, he travelled overseas with one objective only: to make the crowd melt. He first saw the light at parties in London before holding down a high-level residency alongside his Brother, Dyed Soundorom, at French mecca, Les Bains in Paris, only to end up spinning records in the rush of New York’s house circuit at The Limelight, Cielo, Pacha and more.Following his success in the Big Apple, the native Parisian was invited to WMC (Masters at Work sessions) at the Delano Hotel in Miami.
After the intensity of New York, time spent as a DJ in Costa Rica with the sand beneath his feet was the perfect antidote, indulging his musical obsession in a pressure-free environment. Since then the globetrotter DJ never stopped to broaden his musical spectrum performing in various parties and clubs across the globe, including Ibiza, Barcelona, Mexico City, Costa Rica, Bangkok and more.
Known for his love of all kinds of music, Jedsa is constantly on the lookout for new grooves and exciting frequencies to play and experiment with. Always drawing inspiration from the places he has lived and the people he has met.
With his well-travelled soul loaded with experiences from across the globe, his interests have naturally drifted towards production as another means of self-expression. While he had already been immersing himself in the craft of making his own music, pivotal sessions with close friends Hector Moralez and Jef K pushed his technique and vision even further. With the in-demand Jack Is High 12” on Zingiber Audio and releases and remixes for Deeplomatic, Soleil de Nuit and Viva Music in circulation, Jedsa’s inventive, playful approach to house music continues to infect the contemporary scene. Whether on the decks or on record, Jedsa’s Caribbean roots, his years of experience and relentless energy fuse, make for a thrilling and refreshingly honest artist unbound by formula, eternally striving for the feeling between the groove.
